If I am approved by Cornell, does that mean I am accepted by my program?
Each program reserves the right to admit their own students, but Cornell students do tend to be admitted to programs when they apply early and meet or exceed the requirements.
Do I need to prepare separate statements/essays for Cornell and the study-abroad program?
There is no need to write separate statements. If you are applying to a Cornell-approved program, you can submit your statement for that program as part of your application for Cornell approval.
How many study-abroad programs should I apply to?
Apply to one program—and perhaps a back-up. Your Global Learning Education Abroad advisor can let you know if you need a back-up option to be “safe” and if your back-up option is appropriate. In most cases, if you are nominated for a college exchange, you should not have another application in the works.
