Your Right to Vote
Did you know that if you’re a U.S. citizen, your eligibility to vote travels with you? Wherever you are in the world, you are entitled to vote in federal elections, as well as state and local elections in your home state.
International students: Check with your embassy to find out about opportunities to vote.
We support all students in being full participants in the civic process, including exercising your right to vote when you’re abroad. Your voice matters!
Prepare with a Voting Plan
U.S. students: Plan ahead to make your vote count. If you aren’t already registered, register to vote before you leave the country.
Dates for registration and absentee ballots vary by state, so make sure you know the dates that are important to you. Give yourself enough time to receive and submit your absentee ballot, so that it arrives by election day.
