How do I enroll in my courses abroad?

Education Abroad does not manage enrollment for your courses abroad. Pay close attention to any instructions sent to you by your program provider. Some programs will instruct you to enroll in courses before you arrive, while others may finalize your enrollment after you arrive.

Should I pre-enroll at Cornell if I'm going abroad?

It depends on your college. Some colleges ask study abroad students not to pre-enroll to allow space in classes for students who will be on campus. Some colleges may allow or even encourage study abroad students to pre-enroll. Connect with your college advisor to ensure you understand the pre-enrollment policies.

Regardless of whether you pre-enroll, all students studying abroad during a semester or academic year are automatically registered as full-time Cornell students while abroad. This registration shows on your schedule as a study abroad placeholder course. When the placeholder is added, any courses you requested during pre-enrollment are automatically removed.
